Open Question: Abusive Mother who is Aging and still Abusive?
I was adopted and made to work on a farm. I was the only child. Growing up all I heard was that I was taking food out of their mouth, that I would be sent back if I didn't behave and do the work I was told to. They always borrowed farm equipment and didn't pay their bills for a year. As soon as I was old enough, I started buying junk farm equipment to fix so they would quit borrowing stuff. Over the years, I had to buy them furniture, ac units, and spent tens of thousand of dollars bailing hay for them for free and keeping them supplied in equipment. I finally got married at 40 and my mother did everything she could to stop it. The land I was promised after working the place all those years was withheld. They wouldn't even give me 1 acre to build a house on. They were in their 70's when I married so I just shrugged and said keep everything and left and bought my own land in the community. 15 years have passed and she complains to everyone in the small community about us and how she lives alone. We got her a $7,000 grant to fix her house, got her a medical alert button, arranged to have meds delivered to her house and a government van that will pick her up and take her to doctor appointments or grocery store. She _itches to everyone that will listen how we don't help her. My wife is the one that arranged all this help for her. We are paying off our land and house and can't take off to take her to appointments when their is transportation. Now, I am sick with stage 4 cancer, I don't have long to live, and she goes weeks without calling how I am. Now she is bitching at my wife for not telling her I was in the hospital. I have been hospitalized at least 9 times in the past 2 years. She has been told I am getting worse and to call more often if she wants to know how I am doing. My wife is either travelling to the hospital or nursing me at home or taking me to doctors appointments. My wife has told her she needs to call more often, that things are changing rapidly. She has not called and I am mad she is bitching at my wife, who has a full plate. With the abuse I endured as a child, I don't have much love for this woman and figure if she can't call, its no loss to me. But she is using the situation to get attention. She lives 10 minutes from me but won't visit. But now she is telling relatives and friends in this small community my wife is keeping her from visiting. I had it out with my mother and told her if she wants to know how I'm doing, just call. She claims it is too hard to call in the evenings and she forgets in the morning. Now she has a relative that wants to take her to come visit me in the hospital and I told them to wait till I get home. The relative is pissed at me for being mean to my mom. My mom puts on an act to get attention. In the past people were fooled by her act and helped her, only to hear thru a third party her complaints about them. One lady took her to the doctor, got her meds, took her to lunch, but made the"mistake" at stopping at HEB for a few groceries for herself. My mom complained to everyone, now that lady doesn't come around. My wife use to help her alot too but got tired of the complaining. We lost our business when I got sick, sold most of our farm equipment, and are holding on by the skin of our teeth to our house. This last incident has made me really bitter towards my Mom. I'm not well enough to protect my wife from this abuse that I put up with for too long. ANY IDEAS HOW TO PUT A STOP TO THIS? moreResolved Question: How do you think that the difference (loss) is covered?
In light of our new healthcare bill that will put even more people on the government dole for healthcare coverage, I present these simple questions, with a little background also covered... I work for the finance department of a hospital system. It is an absolute fact that we take a loss on all medicaid patients, in other words, we are reimbursed less than the actual cost of the visit/procedure. So here are my questions, 1 is a yes or no, and 2 is multiple choice : 1) Wouldn't simple logic and common sense tell us that more the more patients that are on government assistance, the more services we will have to perform at a loss, therefore hurting the company? 2) Obviously even a non-for profit must have an income in order to pay it's workers, so that said, how do you believe that the loss is made up for? A) The cost is passed on to the patients on private insurance, therefore raising premiums. B) The cost is passed on to the employees in terms of lower salaries. C) The loss is passed on to patients in the form of cutbacks in medical equipment and staff due to lower budgets as a result of making up losses. D) Magic E) A combination of answers A, B, and C Now before the lefties get all in a huff and call me mean and uncaring, take note that I do understand that SOME people do need public assistance, and it should not be outright done away with by any means. However, I believe that it should be utilized as a stepping stone to someday supporting yourself, not a way of life, and with numbers already high now, we certainly don't need MORE people on it.David H your logic is flawed. While yes, there may be a very few cases of this, once again logic will prevail and tell us that most people who have no assets to seize or wages to garnish will qualify for government health benefits (especially so under the new law). Nearly all people who neither have insurance nor government benefits have some assets and income...if they did not, they would be on public assistance. See how logic works? Wonderful thing, that thing called logic. And even without using logic but rather facts, I can tell you that by looking at actual numbers that we "eat" alot more costs on medicaid patients than we do on uninsured non-payers. I do this for a living, I know, I see the numbers every month. To "the patriot" - Hey idiot, I don't care what they do in the U.K. and what U.K. publications say. FACT - All of that is irrelavent in the U.S. FACT - You are just a bunch of liberals with bad teeth FACT - Americans don't criticize your ways, so shut up about ours. FACT - Writing the word FACT in all caps repeatedly does not make you look smart And by the way, do you work for a hospital? I do, FACT.I might also point out that you conveniently danced around the the fact that hospitals lose money because of government welfare. I did not ask for your opinion on whehter socialism was great or not and government control of healthcare was what you liked (or other idiots in the U.K. liked). Typical moronic liberal response, to not give straight answers to the question and instead rant about their opinions.@ leo - typical big corporation hating liberal/socialist drivel. You prove nothing with your ranting. My numbers don't lie...and even if you take insurance out of the equation, out-of-pocket payers also have to pay more because of government programs like medicaid. I am all for reforming the insurance aspect, they are no saints themselves, but Tort reform would have been the way to go, socializing the system even more only hurts a system that is already ailing. moreResolved Question: What do you think of this poem from Irish times?
What Is Not Allowed to enter Gaza; No tinned meat is allowed, no tomato paste, no clothing, no shoes, no notebooks. These will be stored in our warehouses at Kerem Shalom until further notice. Bananas, apples, and persimmons are allowed into Gaza, peaches and dates, and now macaroni (after the American Senator’s visit). These are vital for daily sustenance. But no apricots, no plums, no grapes, no avocados, no jam. These are luxuries and are not allowed. Paper for textbooks is not allowed. The terrorists could use it to print seditious material. And why do you need textbooks now that your schools are rubble? No steel is allowed, no building supplies, no plastic pipe. These the terrorists could use to launch rockets against us. Pumpkins and carrots you may have, but no delicacies, no cherries, no pomegranates, no watermelon, no onions, no chocolate. We have a list of three dozen items that are allowed, but we are not obliged to disclose its contents. This is the decision arrived at by Colonel Levi, Colonel Rosenzweig, and Colonel Segal. Our motto: ‘No prosperity, no development, no humanitarian crisis.’ You may fish in the Mediterranean, but only as far as three km from shore. Beyond that and we open fire. It is a great pity the waters are polluted – twenty million gallons of raw sewage dumped into the sea every day is the figure given. Our rockets struck the sewage treatments plants, and at this point spare parts to repair them are not allowed. As long as Hamas threatens us, no cement is allowed, no glass, no medical equipment. We are watching you from our pilotless drones as you cook your sparse meals over open fires and bed down in the ruins of houses destroyed by tank shells. And if your children can’t sleep, missing the ones who were killed in our incursion, or cry out in the night, or wet their beds in your makeshift refugee tents, or scream, feeling pain in their amputated limbs – that’s the price you pay for harbouring terrorists. God gave us this land. A land without a people for a people without a land.http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/opinion/2010/0605/1224271903842.html moreResolved Question: What is your thoughts on The Red Cross gives first aid lessons to Taliban?
The Red Cross in Afghanistan has been teaching the Taliban basic first aid and giving insurgents medical equipment so that fighters wounded during battles with Nato and Afghan government forces can be treated in the field, it was revealed today. More than 70 members of the "armed opposition" received training in April, the Red Cross said – a move likely to anger the government of Hamid Karzai, which is losing large numbers of police and soldiers in insurgent attacks. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it had introduced the classes because pitched battles, landmines and roadblocks stopped people in the most volatile areas from getting to hospital. The Red Cross, which aims to remain neutral in the conflict, has trained more than 100 Afghan soldiers and policemen, as well as a network of taxi drivers who operate an unofficial ambulance service in Helmand and Kandahar provinces. Today, a leading figure in Kandahar's local government, who wanted to remain anonymous, said the Taliban did "not deserve to be treated like humans". He said: "They are like animals, and they treat the people they capture worse than animals. They kidnapped and killed an American lady and then wouldn't even return her body. These people don't deserve this help." The Afghan ministries of defence and the interior said they were unable to comment on what they described as a highly controversial issue. A Nato spokesman in Kabul said: "Nato has tremendous respect for the humanitarian work carried out by the ICRC and we recognise the need for this work to be carried out impartially. "Isaf [Nato] forces also provide treatment to any case caught up in this conflict, including our opponents, in line with our own obligation to respect the rules of armed conflict." One of the ICRC-trained drivers, who transports sick and wounded people from Sangin district in Helmand, where some of the most fierce fighting is taking place, to Mirwais hospital in Kandahar city, told the ICRC that roadblocks and insecurity had lengthened the journey to six or seven hours, rather than the normal two. The extraordinary measure highlights how badly security has declined in southern Afghanistan, undermining this summer's effort by US-led forces to protect the population from violence. The ICRC said its volunteers in Kandahar and staff at Mirwais hospital had seen a "substantial increase" in the number of patients injured by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other weapons. Critics of the Nato push in southern Afghanistan, which is aimed at seizing full control of Kandahar city and central Helmand from the Taliban by the end of the year, said that coalition commanders had made the situation worse by publicising where they were going to launch assaults. By discussing publicly their plans in February for clearing the largely rural area of Marja in Helmand and then their desire to "clear" districts surrounding Kandahar city, Nato hoped many insurgents would simply choose not to fight. But in many cases, the move gave the Taliban time to dig in and plant IEDS in the areas. For years the beds at Mirwais hospital have been regularly filled with men with gunshot wounds, many of whom are insurgents. But ICRC staff, who support the work of the hospital, have learned not to ask questions about how they sustained their injuries. In general the government has been happy to allow fighters to come to the hospital, receive treatment and leave again. But in Helmand in April, the tacit approval for such humanitarian medical support appeared to break down when Afghan security services raided a hospital in Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital, run by an Italian NGO called Emergency, which also has a strict policy of providing surgical help to anyone who needs it. Nine staff were arrested and accused of plotting to murder the provincial governor after weapons and suicide bomb vests were found in the compound. The International Committee of the Red Cross runs hospitals in Afghanistan, visits prisoners on both sides of the conflict and co-operates on various projects with the Afghan Red Crescent Society, a separate organisation, on various projects. moreResolved Question: Do I have grounds to sue the Hospital and Doctor. They knocked my crowns out and chipped one of my teeth?
While it has been my good fortune to find a good Dr. and benefit from his talent as a foot surgeon; I had the unfortunate experience of malpractice, at the hands of the accompanying anesthesiologist. On 3/23/10, I entered a outpatient Medical Clinic with the full expectation of having a second successful foot operation by my Dr. When I regained consciousness after the surgery, it seems I had been entered involuntarily and unsuccessfully into a championship prize fight with Mike Tyson and had my two front permanent crowns knocked out. I'm just kidding about the fight. The nurse standing beside my bed with a small cup containing my crowns informed me that I had supposedly bit down on the green standard oral airway she had in her other hand. I know this piece of equipment very well, you see I was trained on how to use it as a US Army Medic. I examined it and didn’t see any embedded teeth marks were my teeth would have bit down on it to have caused this type of damage, so I immediately thought that my dentist must have done a lousy job putting these crowns in. She told me they were the best and would last five years. I am Lucky enough to be a Black Jack Pit Boss and a part time SAG Actor, so my two front teeth are very important in my line of work. So,I got up from the post-op bed, told my friend to take me directly to the dentist office. When I arrived at the dental office minutes later, I gave them the cup of teeth and proceeded to read them the riot act about doing faulty dental work and told the dentist I demanded to have new crowns put in and not one red cent charged to my account. I must say to her credit, she came back brain cells on full throttle and said lets take a look and sat me in the chair, took x-rays and discovered that my tooth was now chipped and the crowns were not split in half but missing the backs, because the backs were still on the numbs in my mouth. It was explained, if you had bit down, your teeth would be split in half like a cracked sunflower seed. The reason the backs of your crowns are still stuck to the back of your teeth is because they were forcefully pushed in from the front. I thought what a detective you would make, needless to say I was man enough to stand there and apologized in front of that whole staff. They were gracious enough to give me an out and said your still under the anesthesia, but who wouldn’t be outraged. My mother( R.N., B.S.N.)was the runner-up oncology nurse of the year three years ago. At her funeral a nurse stepped up to the podium and said, you don’t know me, but I want you to know what kind of a person let alone professional , your mother was; while training me on patient care we were leaving a patients room and mom commended me on technique and then asked me what color was the patients hair. She would always say to us that healing isn't always in the medicine. I told the anesthesiologist that my grandfather died at the hands of alcoholic anesthesiologist during a simple tendon repair operation, so I would appreciate it if he would take extra care during the procedure. Obviously, he wasn’t listening. I have personally spoken to patient relations and Quality Risk Management. When I spoke to Patient Relations originally right after the operation, they relayed the facts about my teeth to Risk Management and they said ,to have me have my dentist forward the bill to her. As of March 30, 2010,Risk Management has had a change of mind and decided not to pay $2645.00 to replace my permanent crowns. Know I feel like I have been abused and gone way past the point of civility. I now want $2700.00 for the crown replacement and $4800.00 for the malpractice of chipping my tooth not to mention their corporate arrogance, insensitivity toward me the patient and covering up the Dr.'s false statement. I am going to send a compliant to the medical board of california. I want to know how to file for malpractice on him without a lawyer also. moreResolved Question: I can't land the most basic of IT Positions even with my experience and training. One of the passengers on an 8 ship flotilla that will be heading to break the siege Gaza next week is Joe Meadors, a decorated Navy veteran and one of the survivors of the 1967 attack on the U.S.S. Liberty, in which Israeli fighter planes and ships killed 34 Americans and wounded 173. Israel has threatened this convoy from attempting to reach Gaza. These ships will be bringing badly needed building material, medical equipment and school supplies to Gaza. “It’ll be like old home week,” said Meadors, recalling the Israeli attack he survived 43 years ago. "I'm determined to land with this internationally coordinated effort on the shores of Gaza to deliver relief to the 1.5 million inhabitants suffering under the Israeli-led illegal blockade." Will Israel try to finish what it attempted in 1967 with the USS Liberty? moreResolved Question: How do you get a coworker fired?
This guy has been working for us for about 4 months. He does meet his monthly goals, I have to help him. He is a delivery driver for a Medical Equipment company. He has cussed me and our nurse out, and has had a wreck. He is on drugs and has told all of us how he passes his drug test, including his boss, who he is friends with. I am always taking calls calming patients down who are angry because he hasn't seen them when they wanted him to be there. He goes home early because his "foot hurts" or he "has a headache". I have talked to my boss about it and he will not do anything. All he does is say that he will talk to him which he does, but says that everything is taken care of, and It happens again, over and over. This guy does not know any responsibility. He is always borrowing money from our petty cash which is not supposed to be borrowed. He takes the work van home because he doesnt have enough money to buy gas for his car. So he uses the company's money for personal reasons. It has gotten to the point where we have the cities police looking for him (my other co-worker's husband is a cop) to write him tickets that will have to go to corporate. Any advice?? moreResolved Question: What do you think about these Amazing facts about Israel?

THE STORY: Our nation evolved from an agricultural society to industrial society, and recently from an industrial society to a technological society. As this evolution has progressed, it has become more important to monitor our physical activity and health routines. Many of the jobs and tasks that people used to take part in have become mechanized and now require us to do less physically laborious work. This is a double-edged sword. We take pride in finding more efficient means to do such tasks as lawn and garden work, housekeeping chores, and cultivating and harvesting crops for our nutritional consumption. But, this means that our total daily expenditure of calories, is less than it used to be just 30 to 50 years ago. With the focus on less physical labor and more sedentary activities, we have to be more aware of what our bodies need when it comes to exercise and physical activity. Many studies have shown that cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity related illnesses have been on the rise for the past two decades. The only way to combat these enemies of good health is through a regular exercise routine and sound nutritional practice. With the advances in medical technology we are able to live a longer life span than our forefathers. This too has implications on our health as we are living longer and must prepare ourselves for keeping our vital organs in top shape to serve us well for 80, 90, or 100 or more years! There is good news! Technology has the ability to allow us more free time to engage in activities with healthy benefits. Many of us have an abundance of choices of fitness activities and equipment is more readily available now than at any time in history. It is up to us to discover a fitness routine we find challenging, enjoyable, and full of self-expression that will act like a magnet and draw us to participate in several times each week. As you journey through Wellville you will be asked to adapt what you are learning to your own lifestyle. However, we know that your lives are full of many roadblocks and hurdles that must be overcome and jumped through in order to pursue wellness. Even though most of us are extremely committed to the goal of being fit, we have time constraints that would set the most expensive personal planner ablaze with alarms to alert us about our deadlines and obligations. We challenge you to take control of your schedule and make fitness and healthy eating a most important part of your daily lifestyle. This is an atrocity!. IF this is what we can expect from the direction our NEW health care system is going, we better repeal it quickly! Do you think this is what we're headed for in the US? Is sure seems that way, doesn't it? excerpt... A patient desperate for a drink of water had to telephone the switchboard of the hospital he was being treated in to beg to see a doctor. Derek Sauter, 60, used his mobile phone to request medical attention after his pleas for help were ignored. But when the doctor arrived he was turned away by ward nurse Caroline Lowe, who said Mr Sauter was 'over-reacting' and threatened to confiscate his phone. Family man: Derek Sauter on holiday with his wife Susan - their daughter Ruth said she was appalled at the way he was treated Eight hours later the grandfather-of-three, who was suffering with a chest infection, was dead. Rather than offering sympathy to Susan, Mr Sauter's wife of 41 years, Miss Lowe later told her that he could have been prosecuted for harassing the doctor on call. Yesterday his daughter, Ruth Sauter, 42, said she was appalled at the way her father, a former administrator for the Healthcare Commission, the former NHS watchdog, had been let down by the NHS. Sacked: Caroline Lowe, the ward nurse, turned the doctor away who came to see Mr Sauter 'My father went into hospital for a routine chest infection, but never came out,' said Miss Sauter, of Thurrock, Essex. 'His condition was not life threatening and the nurses had specific instructions to keep close tabs on him. 'But their appalling lack of care, and cruel behaviour killed my father. He should not have died that weekend; it was not his time. 'It's so much worse knowing that he died alone, thirsty and scared on that ward.' Mr Sauter was admitted to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, in Kent, at 9am on June 27 2008. He was admitted to a ward and given intravenous antibiotics and oxygen, but at 8.30pm he telephoned Mrs Sauter, a midwife, in distress claiming nurses were refusing to give him any water because he had accidentally knocked over the first cup he had been given. A note scrawled by Mr Sauter and discovered by his family after his death said: 'Asked for a jug of water at 6pm and again at 8.30, told to wait for handover. Said I knocked cup of water on floor.' In another note Mr Sauter said he was 'getting depressed'. Some time between 9.30pm and 11.30pm Mr Sauter was moved to a side room where there was no monitoring equipment and, although he was supposed to be checked every four hours, no observations on his condition were made. At 11.35pm Mr Sauter, who had still not had any fluids, made his desperate call to the switchboard. The following morning, at 6.51am, a distressed Mr Sauter telephoned his wife to ask her to come back to the hospital. But he died of pneumonia brought on by the chest infection less than half an hour later - before Mrs Sauter, 60, arrived. I feel very guilty because my cat would have been 10 years old on march 6th of this year but he died in August of 2008. He had kidney failure and my grandfather took him to several vets and he had dialysis done at home and stuff like that but nothing helped and he died anyways my grandfather spent $3,000 or his medical expenses still nothing helped he refused to eat or drink and would hide in the most amazing places of the house where it was almost impossible to find him and he was shoving his head into small places such as between the couch like he was trying to commit suicide the day that he died it was very scary because his eyes were sparkling with anger and he was hissing very loudly jumping up and down the saliva was spilling out of his mouth his legs had fallen down to the floor and then when my grandfather tried to pick him up to bring to the vet he was running away fast on those legs that were down and when he finally caught him he scratched my grandfather so bad that he needed to get a shot. I miss him alot these days but I think it was my fault that he died because I abused him when he was a young kitten and now I really regret it one time I threw him from a height and he was just a baby back then and I was surprised how he stayed alive after being thrown like that I feel so bad about it now and I miss him so much his mother died too and it was my baby's babysitters fault because she gave us a christmas plant that was poison for cats and I miss her too and I blame myself for what I did and for not knowing the plant was poison and letting them keep it in the house. My family does not want anymore cats after al of this happened but I really miss them and I blame myself for both of them dying. They were mother and son the son died first and then I saw the other cat (the mother) feeling strange she was sitting in a room by herself in the corner on the floor sleeping and she looked depressed I think she knew her son was gone even though they fought and they never got along when he was still alive but then a day after christmas she died from a heart attack a day after eating that stupid plant the babysitter gave my family. I hate the babysitter it was her fault I lost both cats and I think she knew the plant was poison since there must have been a warning on it when she bought it. She probably did that on purpose for revenge becuause I promised to keep her secrets while she was at work outside with me and the baby but I didn't because they were bad secrets she asked me to ask my family for money daily and make something up as to why I needed it and then she went to the deli and spent it on lottery tickets and lost penny of my family's money. She also asked me to call a restaurant from the payphone on the street and make a delivery of food to one of her friends for an amount of at least $60. She stoled alot of things from our house. She also put the baby to sleep while outside by putting a blanket over her head and closing her entire face and telling her to go to sleep. When I told my family about this and they asked her she denied it and said I was lying until one day my grandmother went outside to check on them and caught her doing it. She was jumping up and down with the 1 year old toddler in in her hands on the playground equipment. When at home she would put the baby to sleep she "absolutely" all the time had the door locked for some reason and when she was asked she said the baby wont sleep unless she is in the room with her. Once my grandmother walked in on her and the babysitter just jumped because she had her cell phone in her hands and was taking photos and videos of the baby without permission and was hiding her phone in hands. She got some indian family to also take pictures by posing as her mother. A few times she was talking on the phone while the baby was all the way on top of the playground equipment and she could have fell and then no one would be there to pick her up since the babysitter was all the way at the bench. When my family suspended her and told her she wasnt to come back unless she promises not to steal again she promised but then started taking things and keeping them for a week and then when she realized somebody was looking for it she would throw it in different places of the house and these things would suddenly show up. She claimed to be my friend and asked me to please keep her secrets I promised her but then I went straight to my family and told them everything she was doing and that she tells me to keep it a secret. She cursed out my family while I was with her on a trip and then told me to again keep everything that happened there secret she said "what happens on this trip stays on this trip" but I told anyways and then again she said I was lying. The last thing happened was a few days before christmas she got mad at me again for telling my family that she took a video of me without my permission the next day she said she was sorry and that was when she gave us th moreResolved Question: Am I wasting my time on my boyfriend?
Here is the situation: I've been with my boyfriend(28, I'm 23) for a year and we get along great and so on but the tables have turned since we first got together. When we started out I was unemployed and he was working and paying for everything. Even though we both still live at home I now have a good paying job while he is out of work and pay I for mostly everything. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying at all(we focus more on just being together at home now than going out) We tentatively talked about moving in together just before he lost his job. We since agreed it is the best interest of both of us(we live an hour away and he has to do all the driving) he has been saying we need to wait until he has some sort of income, even part time, so all the burden isn't on me. He does look for work and applies to places, I've even suggested him going back to school(shot down cause he just paid off his student loans a few years ago) and I was ready to give up on the relationship because he doesn't have as much natural drive and ambition as I do and would find a way to not fill out applications to jobs I found for him and we were at a deadlock. About 2 1/2 months ago I was in a fatal car accident where I almost died. I think it freaked him out and then suddenly he was filling out the applications going and finding places that were looking to hire and so forth and all around has really stepped up his search. He went so far as asking his parents to loan him money or doing odd jobs for friends in order to get me something on Valentine's Day and my birthday even though I told him no. He also worked odd jobs to make money so he could pay for things when I was well enough to go out but still on medical leave without a dime to my name, and never said a word about it. He finally agreed to not be so strict about us moving in together and me being the main source of income(or only source at times) since financially it's more expensive how we currently have it. My concern is this: with me back at work and starting to make money again(which I'm saving so we can move in together in a few months) I'm worried it's going to just go back to how it was before of him acting like, why rock the boat? He did agree to me helping him start his own business by investing in the equipment he needs to do decent recordings of live shows for local bands(I guess that's where he has been making money recently) I know he loves me and wants what's best for me and really does want us to take this next step. But I don't want to sit here waiting for something that is never going to happen. Lord knows when he going to get work again and our current situation is not working and making everything very tense. Am I wasting my time waiting on something that may never happen or just being cynical to a positive sign of improvement? And for anyone suggesting he is a child who just uses people for money you are dead wrong. He paid all his student loans off himself(over $20,000) before he was 26 years old(I've seen the records myself) and he has no debt to his name whatsoever. He also drives to and from my house at least once a week(again an hour away) and has never asked me for gas money even before my accident. moreResolved Question: If presented insurance profits facts from Obama, the AFL / CIO, and MorningStar, whose numbers?

My husband and I have been TTC #1 for 2 1/2 years now with no luck. After a laparoscopy confirming endometriosis, I took Lupron for 3 months. That did NOTHING for me and trusted my doc when he said I should take the Birth Control Shot (I know, looking back dumb move). But, that made me go see a local Reproductive Endocrinologist who found that although I had endo my main problem was more that my uterus was FULL of polyps hence, no eggs could attach to my uterine lining and that I also have PCOS. So, after a surgery, etc. I got AF last week and Friday I started CLOMID 100 mg. YAY-- Finally I feel like I am getting somewhere!!! Then, he told me he will be giving me an HCG trigger shot (Ovidrel) to make me ovulate within 36 hours taking the guess work out of timing intercourse with ovulation. Anyone been through this?? Any advice?? Here's something I found on a random blog that may help some of you TTCers. "What do I think God meant when he gave me infertility? "I think he meant for my husband and I to grow closer, become stronger, love deeper. I think God meant for us to find the fortitude within ourselves to get up every time infertility knocks us down. I think God meant for our medical community to discover medicines, invent medical equipment, create procedures and protocols. I think God meant for us to find a cure for infertility. "No, God never meant for me not to have children. That's not my destiny; that's just a fork in the road I'm on. I've been placed on the road less traveled, and, like it or not, I'm a better person for it. Clearly, God meant for me to develop more compassion, deeper courage, and greater inner strength on this journey to resolution, and I haven't let him down. "Frankly, if the truth be known, I think God has singled me out for a special treatment. I think God meant for me to build a thirst for a child so strong and so deep that when that baby is finally placed in my arms, it will be the longest, coolest, most refreshing drink I've ever known. "While I would never choose infertility, I cannot deny that a fertile woman could never know the joy that awaits me. Yes, one way or another, I will have a baby of my own. And the next time someone wants to offer me unsolicited advice I'll say, "Don't tell me what God meant when he handed me infertility. I already know." moreResolved Question: No easy answer. Part 1?
I'm a dreamer, I dream of a world that sucks a little bit less than this one. Hey I dont want one of those utiopas or anything because that would be boring and mother nature would kill us all because she hates boring. just a little bit better, a smidge even. Do you think its possible to have a world wide health service. Now before all the hardcore capitalist yanks jump up and start shouting commie at the top of there lungs I am positive you would still be able to make money off the suffering of others, Im just saying perhaps we could limit it to say 30% rather than say 300%. Any country could be a part of the health service as long as they donate a persentage of there GDP. yes some countries will be adding more to the pot but 5% of all your money is still 5 percent of ALL your money. It could be our first attempt at doing something as a planet instead of as a country. It would mean that no matter who you are or where you are in the ENITRE world you would have access to the best possible trained doctors and nurses and the best medical equipment and drugs.Things the world health service (WHS) could do would be to train everyone who was able first aid to atleast a high enough level to keep someone alive in most stituations till help can arrive. Accidents happen, its part of life but there should be no one who dose not know what to do incase of a heart attack, stroke or car accident. The way I see it what to come people think is a socialist idea is actually capitalist idea if you look it it this way. If you offer someone a free service so that they keep visiting your busisness are you a commie? If you keep people alive for longer they will work longer, spend more money at your busineess. think of the adverts. AT&T - keeping you alive for another 30 years, just incase the kids call. Imagine acitects, desiners and doctors given a blank check to desige a large and medium and a small hospital and to place as many as needed anywhere in the world. Now imagine all the money to be made building them and filling them with equipment and training and filling them with staff. now imagine the night sleep you will have knowing that you worked hard, you earned some good money and no matter what happens, all of your family, even members your didnt know you had will be looked after and get the drugs and test they need. moreResolved Question: ANTHRAX letters case CLOSED. I have a question. I live in an 1 bedroom apartment in a prewar apartment building. A year and a half ago they installed a Goodman GKS9 gas furnace with a CAPF cased indoor coil on top. Out of the unit comes six 6”wide ducts that go into each room of the apartment. The distances of the ducts are from 6feet to 10feet. The return air duct is in our hallway. There is an air filter behind the removable grate. Inside there is a stainless steel duct connecting the air filter to the Goodman unit where the fan resides. Lining this duct is 1” thick acoustic fiberglass duct liner. This unit I have on almost all the time. Two things I was told by a neighbor the day I moved in, 1) the units dry the air too much, and 2) the fan is too high. The problem is that in the 6 months I have been living here, I have been noticing black “dust’ EVERYWHERE. My girlfriend and I ended up cleaning up this black “dust” everyday due to the incredible accumulation. Wipe the bathroom counter clean, and by night there’s another layer. My girlfriend began having bloody noses and sinus problems regularly. We got a humidifier for the bedroom thinking her symptoms may be due to the dry air, yet she continued to have medical issues, so bad a doctor wanted her to get a cat scan. I started developing symptons in december where my sinuses felt blocked even though I wasn’t sick. We examind the black dust under a microscope and saw that is consisted of black, red, and clear glassy fiborous hairs. They were all over the apartment. On our bedding, in our clothing, on our plates and cups. Not making any sense to me, I opened grate to the return air duct, and took off the air filter. I saw that the installers had lined the duct with fiberglass duct liner and that all edges of this liner were exposed. Putting two and two together I realized that the black dust we were cleaning everyday, and now I had realized we were breathing in and even eating due to its being pumpd out of our air ducts day and night, was fiberglass! We have done numerous tests to confirm that the black “dust” is in fact the fiberglass being sucked out of the acoustic liner from the open edges. We have samples of this. We have appointments with a doctor to check us for our symptoms. We have contacted the contractor who basically blew us off. This week we called the town building inspector and the health department and they came over with a team to look at the situation. They said that the contactors who installed the equipment were “clowns” and the building inspector is arranging for a meeting with the contractor and building manager tommorow. I spoke with a professional cleaning company, and the president, a chemical engineer, said it’s a serious issue, that our apartment being caked in these glass fibers needs to be evacuated and everything needs to be sanitized or thrown out. It’s a mess. We are still here, though not turning on the heating of course. It’s all over us and in us. There are children who live in this building. We have examined two other apartments and this appears to be a building-wide problem. This gets to the crux of my question. I am not educated in the field of heating and ductwork installations, but this is what I have been able to surmise thus far: 1)calling the goodman company, I was informed that the furnace fan runs at 1200CFM 2)the town building inspector said when he was here the other day that the fans the contractor “clowns” have used were too powerful for the size of these apartments 3)I calculated that 1200 CFM = 6111 FPM for the 6” ducts used in our apartment 4)the NAIMA requires that anything over 4000 FPM requires metal nosing on upstream edges of insulation (not done in our case, no edges were sealed at all, insulation being exposed at all edges) 5)that 6000 FPM is the MAXIMUM velocity allowed for this type of insulation material I believe that the insulation they used should not have been used based on my calculations, which did not take into account “loss factor”. Do you factor in loss factor in deciding whether to use this insulation material or is the fact that on its face the FPM is 6111 and that particular fiberglass lining should NOT HAVE BEEN USED at all?? Being that I calculated the FPM at 6111 and the maximum velocity allowed for this fiberglass duct liner is 6000FMP, numbers matter. Secondly, isn’t it correct that at the very least, being that the FPM is 6111 or so, and 4000FPM being the guidline number, that all exposed edges of the fiberglass lining should have been sealed?? Any answers to these questions would be appreciated. We feel violated for having lived with this situation for this long, having fiberglass inside of your body and all over everything in your living space at this level is a disturbing experience. Getting professional opinions would mean a lot to us both. Thank you in advance, Jason W. moreResolved Question: Do you know the medical reason why prostration is good ?
Salam to all. Your Body receives a huge amount of Electromagnetic waves daily! You get these Electromagnetic waves through the Electrical Equipments that you use and the various equipments which you can not leave! Also, through the electrical lights which can not be switched off in certain cases for even an hour! You are a source which receives huge amounts of Electromagnetic waves! In other words, you are charged with electromagnetic waves without realizing it! You have headache! You feel uncomfortable! Laziness, in action and pain in different places! Do not forget this when you feel some of these symptoms! What is the solution from all this??!! A non Muslim Scientist (From Europe) made a research from which he concluded that the best way for the body to remove the positive Electromagnetic charges which hurts the body is: • By putting your forehead on the ground more than once, so that the ground will discharge the positive harmful Electromagnetic charges! • This is similar to the grounding of the buildings where any positive electrical signals (Like thunders) would be discharged through the ground. • So, put your forehead on the ground to discharge the positive electrical signals! What makes this research more amazing is that: • The best is to put your forehead on the sand It becomes more amazing that: And • The best way is to put your forehead on the ground while you are positioned to the centre of the Earth! Since you will be able to discharge the Electromagnetic signals in a better and more efficient way! And you will be amazed when you know that Mecca is scientifically proven to be the centre of the Earth! And that Kaa’ba is the exact centre of the Earth! So, “Prostration” in your prayers is: • The best way to discharge the harmful electromagnetic signals from your body! • It is also the ideal way to be very close from the Almighty who created this universe in such a creative way! Allah Almighty will always ask us to do things because they are helpful and useful for us! There are cases when we won’t know the reason for a certain act, but sooner or later, you might be able to find the reason! In any case, you should trust the Almighty Allah and know that whatever you do for Him, is the best for you! We do not prostrate to discharge the electromagnetic waves, but to obey the Almighty Allah! We trust that in His commands, there is always a wisdom! Our trust is because He is the Creator, He knows everything! However, since a scientific reason is available, it was essential to show it to the people so that they can see that whatever Muslims do, is good for them! Please Star the Q so others can see it ,jazakum Allah kheir moreResolved Question: conversation about the topic some random things, feel free to say how u feel about it.?

I am not preachy or obsessed with the vaccine-no vaccine debate but I want advice on how to deal with this situation in a polite and reasonable way. Some sources I've consulted (not all but some) say that it is perfectly safe for unvaccinated children to be around and in close contact with other children. In theory I want to believe that and I understand that vaccinated children get sick anyway and the risk of a serious illness is never completely eliminated. However, there are immunocompromised people in my family. I have severe asthma and 3 of my children have asthma too. Their immune system is not always able to fight infections, especially during winter. A common cold or infection means hospitalization and medical emergencies for them. Also, my brother in law, who is a regular face at our home and a fantastic uncle to the kids had a kidney transplant a month ago and we have taken every precaution not to infect him with any virus no matter how mild or harmless it seems. My husband was the donor and while he seems perfectly healthy the doctor advised us to take extra precautions against the flu while he recovers. My two youngest children, son and daughter, became friends with another pair of siblings at martial arts class. These siblings are not vaccinated and I did not realize that until one of my kids, who thankfully is healthy, got mumps. Other children at the class got sick too. Their mom then told me that her children had not recieved a single vaccine since they were born and that she was confident that their immune system would fight the infection. Thank G-d they did but meanwhile I had to struggle with a sick little boy and 3 siblings for whom an infection like that could mean hospitalization and something worst. I understand that kids get sick and that my son could have gotten the mumps from anyone else vaccinated or not. But the concern remains. I worry that my children, including my daughter who is their friend too and who has bad asthma, can get viruses that the children have not been vaccinated against. I don't know what to do. Of course my kids are vaccinated and one can only hope that is enough but I'm no longer comfortable with my children being in close regular contact with these perfectly sweet and innocent children who are not vaccinated. I don't want to treat my kids' friends like vermin or attack their parents choices. Yet a part of me says that they can see each other at karate class three times a week and nothing more. I've already told my son and daughter to wash their hands, not to lend their equipment and watch out for anyone who is sneezing or sick at the class, without mentioning that it is because of somebody in particular. How to handle this? Should I just hope for the best and allow my children to continue to be close friends with the other children? Or am I right to limit contact between them? I can see how this seems extreme and paranoid to some but please try not to judge. You would need to be in our shoes to understand how careful we need to be about these things for our kids' sake. If anyone has faced something similar, how to be civil and polite about it? I don't want to make enemies out of these people for something that is not about them personally.very true and reasonable desmeran and global. The problem is that the children's mom did not say anything about her children having mumps and still sent them to karate and had my son over.Viruses like measles don't show signs immediately but only after the person has been infected for a while. moreResolved Question: What's going to happen when the US gets its own Health Scare System?

If your employer does not pay, you have to pay. $80.00 a month for a single person every month. It is illegal NOT to have coverage. A small family of three pays about $100 a month. But low income, welfare people pay nothing. They get everything free, abortions, drugs, needles for their heroin addiction, methadone, hospital stays. You name it, they get it courtesy of the health care plan. And boy do they use it. I have seen welfare people coming in to hospital with their suitcases packed and all their junk with them and all sorts of vague maladies. Turns out they got kicked out of their apartment and they need a place to stay until their check comes in. Doctor does not mind. That's how he makes his money. The ER is plugged with welfare types coming in with sniffy noses, sore throats etc. Also the ones looking for free narcotics for their addictions. Oops! Did I say free? It's not free. It costs the taxpayer zillions. So much they have to shut down ERs, increase surgical wait lists, not buy equipment etc. Why else do you think Canadians flock to the states for health care?"" My employer is a "Mental Health Hospital" and they recently installed audio devices to capture the conversations that occur on floors of the different units. This equipment was installed in the actual floors and ceilings of the units. They already have "silent video" cameras recording clients and and mainly staff. They have notices posted that video surveillance is taking place, however, i never signed a waiver or contract stating that I submit to these acts. Is it implied as a continuation of my working there? I think the patients will be "forced" to sign a waiver saying it's "In Their Best Interest". I know a waiver for employees will quickly follow and be forced on us to sign without it being looked at by an attorney. Is it legal to record conversation of employees in the medical setting of a private hospital? I read that Electronic Communications Privacy Act would protect against recording audio, but not "silent video". I know a release will soon be forced on us to sign soon. They say it was necessary for incidents of "verbal abuse" of clients. Contact an attorney maybe? I think this comes down to E.C.P.A vs. Patriot Act. What legal statute would make this a "Legal" act or an "Illegal" one? Please helpThey don't use the video or audio for protection of clients or staff. It is used in cases where Medicaid and Joint Commissions require the data in claims from clients against the hospital. Chef Hamza-If we do discover a grand unified theory of the fundamental forces, it should be in time understandable in broad principle by everyone. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason—for then we would know the mind of the universe. October 28 at 10:30am · She replied. Sadaf Temuri i don't agree to it. November 3 at 8:56am My reply. Chef Hamza. You are just being ignorant. As for keeping an open mind, just don't close your mind by reading the Qur'an there is far too much to find out (you wouldn't have the computer you are using if we just stuck to the Qur'an). As far as important issues go, medical equipment used by the doctors to save many lives are a by product of our understanding of the universe. Having an open mind means that you try to find out all of the possibilities that account for your existence and the existence of the universe. Mysticism has it's place but don't confuse it with reality. There is a very beautiful universe out there waiting to be observed. Why don't the people of the USA demand from their politicians a health system like we have in the UK. My wife & I are pensioners and she is undergoing nerve conduction tests, MRI's and X-rays to help her neurological condition. I too am receiving hospital care for an injured arm. We have paid for this throughout our working lives and now are receiving 'free' attention without fear of losing our savings. The doctors who see us also work in the private sector so quality of care is equal. I read of medical equipment being sold by US manufacturers to Europe for $5,000 but 'at home' for $15,000. Why do not the people of the US rebel against the medical and drug manufacturers who are fearful of loss of their wealth?Intersting early responses. Surprisingly angry though. How protective US citizens are of their financial masters. Your are not protecting your private rights. You're being conned out of your earnings. If we in the UK are experiencing 'socialized medicine' I pray we continue to do so. Perhaps your idea of UK ctizens' view of their 'poor' health service is coloured by media coverage with extreme right wing motives. My experiences of the NHS is pride and relief that I have contentment in retirement.A UK update. Today my wife had an hour on the MRI machine and two hours later another hour with a consultant (who also works in the private sector) having conduction tests (on the nerves). Ipswich hospital was clean and all staff were polite and helpful. Next week I will have an hour in Colchester Hospital with physiotherapy for an arm muscle strain. That hospital too is immaculately clean. And, her being disabled, we get free parking!! And the cost to us? Nothing. We are proud of the peace of mind we get here in the UK. In the US I guess I would have had to sell my house by now moreResolved Question: To my fellow Americans who think that single-payer healthcare is a good idea?
As someone who has had the misfortune of living in Canada for years and having relatives up North I will tell you the truth of how truly great the healthcare is there. 1) A family friend of mine had the misfortune of breaking her leg in a skiing accident. She wanted an MRI to see the severity of her injury but was put on a waiting list for SIX months! I kid you not. Thankfully, her husband was already heading to San Diego for a conference and decided to take her along. She paid the fee and got the scan at a medical clinic the very next day the couple arrived in California. 2) My mother had to wait 3 months for a mammogram when she would've only have had to have waited a couple of days when we were living back in the United States. 3) I had to wait 6 months before I could see a specialist. To be specific it was a dermatologist and the condition was far from life threatening. Nevertheless it would've been nicer if I only had to wait a few weeks like if we had been on Blue Cross/Blue Shield instead of Canadian Medicare. 4) The local public hospital, which services over 100,000 people is in a shocking state of disrepair, with renovations to the emergency ward taking over a year to complete. The hospital is a horrible place indeed, with the atrium being nothing but a drab concrete columns and the bed sheets noticeably stained and dirtied, I could swear I was in an Eastern bloc nation and not a first-world country. In contrast, the private hospitals in the United States are far nicer and are far better equipped in terms of medical imaging equipment and patient amenities. With firsthand experience of both systems of healthcare I think that makes me far more qualified to comment on healthcare issues than most US lawmakers, and I can honestly say that with America's world-class hospitals (ie. the Mayo Clinic) and the top medical schools in the world (Harvard and Johns Hopkins to name a few) I find it disheartening how people still believe that decent healthcare cannot be found in the United States. I would take a world-class American physician who graduated from Harvard Medical School and has the finest medical technologies at his disposal over some third-rate third world hack who attended some crappy medical school in Havana with medical equipment that dates back to the early '50s. moreResolved Question: can you give your opinion on my essay?
i do have a problem with writing an essay can you give comments on this essay Dose modern technology has changed our life in a better way and made it more expedient, more than ever. Or life was much easier and simpler that we could endure without technology. In my opinion technology has made our life more suitable and convenient for these following reasons. First reason being, communication such as internet we can obtain information and knowledge further more it provide for us distance education and also mobile phone w can communicate with different people from around the world. Second reason is, from medical point of view, technology has major participation in the medical field , for example diagnosis is done by medical equipment and if the disease is fetal the they can target before spreading completely to the body and lead to death moreover they can diagnose a patient even if he at his home . Nowadays doctors make an operation with help of computer. Third reason is, technology has provided for us different means of transportation such as airplanes, buses, train and so on, all these means made our traveling painless, and without them we would take months to travel to different places moreover we com to know different people and countries. On the contrary there are some negative impacts which technology brought to our life for instance, misuse of internet and using technology for military purpose that can cause mass distraction and end up our life not even less than an hour. Diseases can spread rapidly the transportation means to all over the world whereas in the past if there would be any epidemic daises would be eliminated where it had exited. In conclusion , in the world there is nothing can be pure everything has negative and positive aspects , and as human being we should use positive things only and try to prevent our self of using negative aspects moreResolved Question: Help me figure out the meaning of my dream?
My cousin died 5 years ago and last night I dreamed of her for the 2nd time. I wasn't able to go to her funeral because my family moved to the US and I didn't have the money to go back to my country. The dream went like this: I got a call that my cousin didn't have much time and so I went to the hospital where she was. As I was walking to the room, I saw the nurse pulling the plug. I was scared to look at my cousin because I knew she'll have medical equipment all over her body. A few seconds later, she opens her eyes, and gave me a hug. She was smiling. I told her that I'll be right back and I need to go to the restroom. When I came back, she was dead. I didn't see her but everyone was crying and praying. As I was leaving the hospital, I see the room where she was at through the window. The bed and the wheelchair was covered with white sheets and there was a cross in the room. moreVoting Question: Does this seem like Nixon all over again?
The White House is attacking a news network. It's Fox this time. For those that lived through the Nixon administration this should be familiar. I am now wondering what Fox is going to uncover. As they got close to Nixon's criminal activities he started attacking them and for a while many bought his BS. I'm thinking this is much more than his healthcare plan. And I don't think it is because Obama has GE (NBC, MSNBC) in his back pocket. While GE has a ton of military contracts for aircraft engines and such, they always have. At best their medical equipment division with the CAT scanners and x-ray machines probably won't buy their loyalty as much as promises of the universal healthcare shared records that GE has a shot at developing. IOW, I don't think this is competition between Fox and NBC/MSNBC that Obama is trying to help but trying to cover up something that Fox is close to. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obama_fox_news=========== Yes, Chop, I did live through the Nixon years. And like the textbooks you read, you completely miss how it was during the time. It's easy to get confused when reading history as compared with actually living through history. For instance, we didn't know Nixon was doing anything illegal. There were attacks but not specific attacks on Nixon. The news media turned up the heat. You also have to understand this didn't happen in a few days like history would lead you to believe. So Nixon retaliated. Those attacks were not specifically about the Watergate scandal and most were unrelated. Only near the end when he was exposed and everyone knew he was a crook did we know. So it isn't about something that Obama did or suspected of doing in the past... I'm saying if it was like Nixon, it's going to be much larger than any bail out or healthcare plan.It could be he's stuffing his pockets with millions of dollars from bail outs, or had criminals breaking into opponents offices like was done with Nixon. It may be big and it may not, but the point is Obama is doing the same crap that Nixon did when the heat was being turned up. I see Obama as running scared. Remember well before Nixon was caught, he was saying, "I'm not a crook."========== I agree... overboard... and exactly my point. This is very extreme for a president. We haven't seen the likes of this since Nixon. On top of that he is doing it to the cable news station that has the largest market share of all cable news. It would be like telling everyone that Wal-Mart sells defective products so don't buy there again. The fact that Target, Sears and a dozen other stores carries the same products is lost on the rant or fear. So you look at the person making the claims and ask, why are they lying to us and why are they so scared. Obama thinks the America people are so stupid they cannot determine the difference between news on Fox and commentary. However, I see their point if they think most people are like Obama's followers. They are so easily fooled. See this clip of who Obama thinks he is dealing with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1KOBMg1Y8Chop... you're jumping to conclusions. Don't be so defensive of Obama. I'm not saying he committed crimes like Nixon, worse or better. Just that it is just like what I saw with Nixon. First he was fighting attacks. Next he started fighting the news media. And it got so bad, most of us were believing Nixon might have a point. But even so, Nixon seemed like he was going overboard. Much like the ones that think we didn't land on the moon or 9/11 was an inside deal. If I were advising Obama, I would say, "What in the world is wrong with you? Ignore it and focused on what we have to do." That's the same advice most were thinking Nixon should have been given, but AFTER the fact we found out why he was so overboard. He did have something to hide and they were getting closer and closer and he started to crack. This might be Obama's crack or just very poor advice telling him to attack the news media. moreResolved Question: Does anyone else believe their will be health care savings?
I'm all for health car for people that are financially unable or have pre-existing conditions on some sliding scale. But, the Baucus plan cannot produce savings. It is generating taxes to pay for health care by taxing medical equipment and plans, which will only cause medical expenses to go up. Then they want to start taxing years before the plan starts. Isn't that a ponzy scheme? They can already strip out the waste and fraud if they want to and have done something they can claim as a victory. It's a number they threw out but they don't have any real idea if it is just bad accounting or waste. Otherwise they would be making arrests. If it is going to cost us money, then be honest up front and tell us.I would like to agree with you but Medicare spends much more per beneficiary than any of the private companies and the Dems say that it has massive waste and fraud.Blue christy, you make a lot of sense. moreResolved Question: How much should an accountant cost?
I work for a small business we don't really have a whole lot of business yet. Its a small durable medical equipment company. All our business has isone paypal account one bank account no credit accounts and no savings accounts. The price just seems a little steep so ifanyone can help i'd appreciate it thanksHi I was wondering what I should expect for that price though. All he is doing is picking up our bank statements and check stubs and putting htem into income and expense catagories we are a 2 employee company and barely pay ourselves yet. He gives us a chart that states income and expense and gives usour tax return should I be getting more than that or am i not payingenough? thanks moreResolved Question: Could you accidentally send your baby though an x ray machine?
A woman going through security at Los Angeles International Airport put her month-old grandson into a plastic bin intended for carry-on items and slid it into an X-ray machine. The early Saturday accident — bizarre but not unprecedented — caught airport workers by surprise, even though the security line was not busy at the time, officials said. A screener watching the machine's monitor immediately noticed the outline of a baby and pulled the bin backward on the conveyor belt. The infant was taken to Centinela Hospital, where doctors determined that he had not received a dangerous dose of radiation. Officials, who declined to release the 56-year-old woman's name, said she spoke Spanish and apparently did not understand English. She initially didn't want the baby transported to a hospital, but security officials called paramedics and insisted that the child be examined by a doctor. The grandmother and the child were subsequently allowed to board an Alaska Airlines flight to Mexico City. The rare incident drew attention to whether officials are staffing often-busy security checkpoints enough to prevent such an accident. And it raised questions about the danger of X-rays used to pick out suspicious metal shapes in passenger bags, given the medical community's warnings that even low amounts of radiation can build up over a lifetime. "Rather than focus on the radiation dose, which is a small amount, we need to focus on why this happened, so it doesn't happen again," said Dr. James Borgstede, a diagnostic radiologist at Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems in Colorado Springs, Colo., and president of the American College of Radiology. "Human beings weren't meant to go through those things." In the several seconds the baby spent in the machine, the doctor added, he was exposed to as much radiation as he would naturally get from cosmic rays — or high energy from outer space — in a day. Security experts said the incident underscored a more widespread concern about the screening process at LAX and other airports. "The screeners are still reporting that they're being pushed," said Brian Sullivan, a retired Federal Aviation Administration security agent. "If a baby can get through, what the hell else can get through?" Nico Melendez, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, which manages LAX screeners, said the agency doesn't have enough workers to constantly stand at tables in front of the screeners to coach passengers on what should or should not be sent through X-ray machines. But in some cases, airlines contract with private companies to staff the tables and assist travelers. The TSA will also occasionally put employees at the tables if extra workers are available. TSA screeners often ask passengers to put their coats, shoes, laptops and other items into the bins, Melendez said. But they cannot observe everything people place there, because they must monitor screening equipment, he added. Still, he said that the TSA works hard to educate passengers about what carry-on objects require screening and that travelers must take responsibility for knowing these rules. "There's an obligation on the traveler to use some common sense," said Larry Fetters, the TSA's federal security director at LAX. "If they don't understand, they should ask somebody. If they ask us, we are generally able to find someone who speaks that language and assist them." On its website, the TSA posts extensive tips for travelers, including a section titled "Traveling With Children." One item reads: "Never leave babies in an infant carrier while it goes through the X-ray machine." There are also signs posted in English and Spanish at ticket counters and near security checkpoints warning passengers that they must put metal objects, such as cellphones, pagers and car keys, into bins that go through X-ray machines. moreResolved Question: Does God give us a right to medical care?
God gives us rights to life, liberty, and property, implied in his divine prohibitions against murder, kidnapping, and theft. Does he give us the right to medical care by refusing others their rights to liberty and property, empowering us to commandeer others' time and seize their medicines, hospital rooms, and medical equipment? Does God sanction the seizure of others' assets through taxation, which they could otherwise use to buy medical care and insurance to protect themselves and their families? Better yet, do you know the reason why? Well it's pretty sneaky, really! Device manufactures make such thinks as EKG's, CAT Scanners, Lab Test Equipment, every surgical instrument ever made, x-ray, etc. And guess who pays for these devices? The patient. Each patient is charged a use fee based on all the devices in the room with the exception of major devices called "capital equipment." Those are billed in the service, such as MRI, CAT scanner, lab test, etc. And who are the patients? 80% are the already insured. IOW, 80% of the patients are going to pay for the taxes on the Device Manufacturers, which will help cover the uninsured that will be covered on the government plan. So you might ask yourself, "Why don't they just tax us instead?" Answer: "You would then know." They don't want you to know. This way, it is almost hidden and they can say they are not taxing you, but taxing those great big rich medical companies. The problem here, unlike the Pharmaceutical companies, most of the best Device Manufacturers are based right here in the USA. No we don't import devices from China or Japan yet, as we are the best at making these things... next best is the UK. Not China, not Japan, not India... only the USA. Believe me, that pacemaker inside your chest was most likely made by Medtronic (Minneapolis, MN), the world leader... ditto that stent that allowed you to avoid open heart surgery... the same products 120 other countries use. So what will our companies do that are taxed so much? Clearly they will sell and concentrate their efforts at locations that will make them the most money... IOW, outside the USA. And with each device, it is governed just like a drug so it goes through FDA testing. These are called "Trials." Many of our schools, doctors, and teaching hospitals are given grants by the device manufacturers to do these trials. Once concentrated in other countries, the dollars will go there and to their medical institutions. Isn't it a shame that a "Finance Committee" would screw us instead of control our/their finances. Folks, it is nothing more than a tax and will drive one of the few high technology companies that are still viable here in the USA into other countries. Who the heck is running the show here anyway?========== No mmm_soylentgreen... this is the real deal. Even a number of democrats are against this. Of course some of these are in states that employ a number of device manufacturing employees. I think what you'll see is a big concern about making it hard for manufacturing companies to compete, but the truth is that it's a sham to find some way to pay for this plan without most people knowing where it is coming from. Also understand that Device Manufacturers do not have the lobby that the Drug manufacturers do.========== http://www.medicaldevices.org/public/ moreResolved Question: What do you think of THE COUNTRY of TEXOARKLA?
JUST THE FACTS! THE COUNTRY of TEXOARKLA In case things get a little tougher during the next few months, we In LOUISIANA, TEXAS, OKLAHOMA & ARKANSAS have a plan. Maybe you don't know it, but LOUISIANA, TEXAS, OKLAHOMA & ARKANSAS have a legal right to secede from the Union. (Reference the Texas/Louisiana-American Annexation Treaty of 1848.) Us TEXOARKLANS love y'all Americans, but we'll probably have to take action since Barack Obama won the election and is now the President of the U.S.A. We'll miss ya'll though. Here is what can happen: 1. Barack Hussein Obama, after becoming the President of the United States, begins to try and create a socialist country, then TEXAS, LOUISIANA, ARKANSAS and OKLAHOMA announces that they are going to secede from the Union. 2. George W. Bush becomes the President of the Republic of TEXOARKLA. You might think that he doesn't talk too pretty, but we haven't had another terrorist attack and the economy was fine until the effects of Barney Frank and the Democrats lowering the qualifications for home loans came home to roost. So what does TEXOARKLA have to do to survive as a Republic? 1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas. We will control the space industry. 2. We refine over 90% of the gasoline in the United States. 3. Defense Industry--we have over 65% of it. The term "Don't mess with TEXAS," will take on a whole new meaning. 4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of TEXOARKLA will need for the next 300 years. What will the other states do? Gee, we don't know. Why not ask Obama? 5. Natural Gas - again, we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. John Kerry and Al Gore will just have to figure out a way to keep them warm... 6. Computer Industry - we lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications equipment - small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Nortel, Alcatel, etc. The list goes on and on. 7. Medical Care - We have the research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world, as well as other large health centers. 8. We have enough colleges to keep educating and making smarter citizens: University of Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe, University of Arkansas, LSU, Arkansas State University, Baylor, Rice, TCU, SMU and MANY more. 9. We have an intelligent and energetic work force and it isn't restricted by a bunch of unions. Here in TEXOARKLA, we are a Right-to-Work State and, therefore, it's every man and woman for themselves. We just go out and get the job done.. And if we don't like the way one company operates, we get a job somewhere else. 10. We have essential control of the paper, plastics, and insurance industries, etc. 11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the TEXOARKLA National Guard, the TEXOARKLA Air National Guard, and several military bases. We don't have an Army, but since everybody down here has at least six guns and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over the Texas Rangers. 12. We are totally self-sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf. Also, everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. We don't need any food from somewhere else. 13. FIVE of the ten largest cities in the United States and THIRTY TWO of the 100 largest cities in the United States are located in TEXOARKLA. And TEXOARKLA also has more land than California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island and Vermont combined. 14. Trade: FIVE of the ten largest ports in the United States are located in TEXOARKLA. 15. We also manufacture cars down here, but we don't need to. You see, nothing rusts in TEXOARKLA so our vehicles stay beautiful and run well for decades. 16. We can finally build the wall between TEXOARKLA and Mexico and deport “Illegal Aliens” and say the hell with the EPA and build the lock and damn system in New Orleans that will keep the water out. This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic of TEXOARKLA in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have. Now to the rest of you folks in the United States under President Obama: Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes. You won't have any TV as the Space Center in Houston will cut off satellite communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes, but since Al Gore has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as l moreResolved Question: Mother's death unsolved. Any doctors here or anyone with higher intellect for Sepsis and other diseases?
My mother died ironically on Mother's Day back in 2001. I was ten when it happened. I remember parts of my childhood and can't seem to turn to anyone for answers, because everyone thinks I'm full of BS. After she passed, I was to live with my grandparents back in Iowa when my mother and I lived in Florida. They either don't know anything, or don't want to tell me. My dad on the other hand, was never involved. They divorced before I was born, and wasn't around much ever since. I'm tired of not knowing, remembering of course, but ignorant as to know the facts. I used to have to take care of her a lot. She walked around with an IV at one point before her passing. Here's something I want/need to know so my memories can stop chasing my every thought... She had eleven cuts on her rear. I'm talking wide and deep. Five inches long and nearly to the bone. Five on one side, six on the other. She was a nurse practitioner, so she had medical equipment uses. I used to have to help her with surenges, and quite often, all that was sucked up in the surenge from her rear was puss. Greenish-cream white puss. We even uncovered a couple of clot looking things that were also green that protruded from her cuts. Is this a side effect from Sepsis? Or was this something else my family is covering for? What was the puss and green clot from? My father had once told me that she had AIDS and/or cancer. This wasn't on her death certificate, so is it still possible she had it? She was a missionary and was injected shots to come back to the US from India, and the needles weren't clean. That's how she got sick. Can anyone help me? moreResolved Question: Barracuda VS Kingpin VS The Russian?

His vast bulk shields him from many forms of injury, either providing padding or causing penetration wounds to only strike him relatively superficially. He has extraordinary skill in hand-to-hand combat, specializing in a number of martial arts, including sumo wrestling. His fighting skills and unusual agility for a man of his size compensate for a great difference between his human level of strength and that of Spider-man when the two engage in unarmed combat (Spider-man also has severe inhibitions about using his strength against an opponent without superhuman powers for fear of killing him or her.) The Kingpin is a criminal genius and a highly skilled planner and organizer. He employs numerous henchmen, scientists, and even superhumans, almost all of whom are fiercely loyal to him due to dedication, fear, or both. The Kingpin possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. The Kingpin is virtually as strong as it is possible for a man of his age, height, and weight to be without having superhuman strength. His great bulk does not consist of fat but of muscles that have been developed to enormous size, as in a sumo wrestler. The Kingpin can lift (press) approximately 650 pounds. Weapons The Kingpin sometimes carries a walking stick which contains a concealed laser beam weapon that fires a short pulse of 300 watts, enough energy to vaporize a handgun. The walking stick can also be used to fire a concentrated spray of sleeping gas. The Kingpin's diamond stickpin also contains a small, highly compressed container of sleeping gas which is effective when fired directly into an opponent's face at close range. The Kingpin uses the stickpin gas as a last resort. While the exact limit of his superhuman strength wasn't known, it is known that it didn't exceed 10 tons. * Superhuman Stamina: The Russian's dramatically altered and enhanced artificial musculature produced less fatigue toxins during physical activity than a normal human, granting him an unknown degree of superhuman stamina. Medical unit, with a staff of four doctors plus nurses and physicians' assistants, is steps from his office. Treatment is free for Obama and his family (as well as for the vice president and his family). During the president's travels, a doctor and nurse ride in a limousine in his motorcade. An emergency medical technician comes too, with an ambulance. Air Force One is stocked with equipment for an on-board operating room. On overseas trips, two medical teams usually travel with the president, one on the plane and one pre-positioned on the ground so the president will always have a rested doctor and nurse at the ready. No wonder he wants us to have Govt. Health Care after the treatment he's getting. Anyone who is experienced know what the best way to go about researching/ looking for an owner/operator truck driver to contract for a few months for our business. We have recently started a seperate llc for our business that will capture some of the packaging and storage that is generated from our business of auctioning medical equipment. Is there any good source or government website that could provide us with info on how to pay these types of drivers. We have a very unpredictable shipping need that varies a lot per month, and a lot of other variables such as location pickups, and different stop/load times to fill load up the truck at various stops. Any info or direction? Thanks for your answer i appreciate it man. Thats what the company currently does. CTS and United are doing most of the hauling for our company at the moment. The possibility of leasing a truck was brought up, as well as hiring an o/o. moreResolved Question: The City of Miami alone has had $3 billion a year in medicare fraud: do you still want "guvment" health care?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090729/ap_on_re_us/us_medicare_fraud The first strike force started in 2007 in Miami, a city authorities say is responsible for more than $3 billion a year in Medicare fraud. Clinic owners there would bill Medicare dozens of times for the same wheelchair, while never giving the medical equipment to patients.Paul: your personal attacks have no relevence to the question - if that is your real picture you certainly have no room to talk. moreResolved Question: I need advice regarding restructuring a mortgage while filing bankruptcy.?
I have a somewhat complicated situation and would appreciate some serious, educated advice: My husband and I live in Las Vegas, NV in a home that has significantly depreciated since we bought it 4 years ago. We paid $570,000, and it's now appraised at approx. $270,000 due to our lovely economy! We still owe $460,000, and we have an interest only loan that is coming to the end of the 5 year arm in a couple of months, so our mortgage is going to increase significantly! My husband also has a rental home that is worth what he owes on it. (We were just married, and all debts, etc. are in his name only) My husband is in the process of being sued for over $400,000 due to medical equipment that he leased for a Dr. he employed that has skipped town. He must therefore file for BK to avoid paying $400,000 for equipment he cannot use. My husband believes that our only option is to let our home go to the bank (ASC) and move into the rental home, but, we do not want to leave our current home! What are our options? Will a BK court allow us to restructure our current mortgage for the amount the home is now appraised? We haven't missed a payment, and the bank won't allow us to refinance now. And we're afraid that if we stop paying on our current mortgage in order to get the bank to work with us, let the rental home go back to the bank, and file BK, that no bank will allow us to refinance/restructure because our credit will be destroyed, and then we won't have any home at all! Please help! Thank you moreResolved Question: Why do we always think that we're going to be in the unemployment line?
My sister works in radio and on Friday she was told her company was downsizing and they eliminated her position. I work in the medical field, I sell medical equipment, and I have been thinking all weekend that I'm going to be fired too. I don't know why. My boss just told us on Friday that our company is on track to meet our operational budget for the year and we are not having layoffs. And, I just found out that this girl who was pool has just been told she can get benefits because she works a lot of hours. I see how busy we are and I know that we could even use having more people. However, I can't kick this thing in my mind thinking I'm going to be laid off. Am I just paranoid or do you think I could be laid off?
