Open Question: What's Up With My Left Knee?
Last Sunday i was marching with my band and i tripped up and landed on my knees. I cut my right knee but i didn't feel a thing in my left. The next day i noticed that it'd pop if i straightened it and it'd hurt if i twisted it. Now it seems to heal in the morning but be back in the afternoon. I'd wake up and no pop or pain. Then i'd come back home in the afternoon limping because it'd hurt to put weight on it let alone twisting it. Do you know wat's wrong? OR Do you know any cures? moreResolved Question: How can I cure fromself from indigestion?
What particular food and drinks will help relieve indigestion? Also, my indigestion is VERY bad and the pain started like an hour ago. How long do you think it will take until the indigestion is gone?sorry for the spelling mistake, I meant 'how can I cure indigestion?' moreResolved Question: VERY embarassing problem i believe is associated with pregnancy? Never had this before in my life!!!?
Hi ladies! Ok please, i hope someone can help give me a good answer i really need it! Basically im 32 weeks pregnant with a baby girl :D and am experiencing a very unwanted side effect of being pregnant- DESPITE my efforts to avoid this happening; i.e i eat a lot of fruit/ fibre in my diet and have my legs raised on a stool when i use the loo... Ok, well i think i have piles/ haemorriods!!!? Im sure i do infact! TMI: For a few weeks now i have been experiencing REALLY bad itching in my bum area, im not really in pain though, it's just constant urge to itch... But the last couple of days, sorry if this is TMI after i have used the loo to do a poo, when i have wiped there has been a very small bit of blood on the tissue!!! It really has been like a tiny bit of blood, like nothing too much to worry about. But i just hope if nobody else is too embarrassed, if they could share their experiences with me- has this happened to any of you during pregnancy??! I've heard it's quite common but im horrified and thought this kind of thing could never happen to me! I've done a bit of research online, and so far havent read that i should be straight to the doctors- and to be honest, i feel a bit too embarrassed to go to the doctors about this, so if i dont have to i wont go... Can the doctors even help with this problem? And the creams they sell for piles- are they just to soothe the area, or do they actually cure them??? I don't know whether i should go to the doctors or not... I have heard that the pile things can petrude but i (thank God!) have not experienced this just yet- just the itching and slight bit of blood on the tissue... Could this affect my labour at all??? Im so scared of tearing already! Please, anyone with any experience on this issue share some info with me, i don't know whether i should be concerned or not, i don't know if i should just try and put up with this... Many thank's in advance, God Bless :) ~x~ moreOpen Question: What's up with my squeamish-ness?
When it comes to real life I can handle a bit of blood now, i used to faint at a paper cut rofl. I still cant look at bad injuries, operations etc without the inevitable happening (if im lucky i can calm myself down and get some fresh air to make the light headedness go away just in time!) BUT i love playing Call of Duty and shooting peoples legs off with machine guns and anti-tank rifles lol! I can also handle allot of gory movies, not sure about SAW though. Ive seen some intense clips and felt a bit wierd for a while. When I was very young nothing effected me, no matter how shocking. Then when i was in middle school things got bad, then worse. When i was 15 i couldnt even sleep at night because of just accidently thinking of blood and thinking i would faint. If i put my head down and closed my eyes i would go light headed and have to get up and watch tv all night in fear that if i tried to sleep i would get the feeling again :( Im 16 now and improving. I crashed my bike pretty hard and cut myself in many places and there was allot of the red stuff! I was ok though! No light headedness, just pain haha! Im not cured yet though, i tried watching an operation but i just couldn't handle it and had to go outside for 10 mins. Why was it so bad when i was 15? Why do people have this problem in the first place? I watched Black Water today which was about a croc eating sum peeps and i merely found it amusing. Certain things affect me while other things don't and im confused! Ive fainted 15 - 20 times in my life i think and come close man more times, all due to this issue. Its a horrible experience for me as i get that please kill me now feeling for ages before i finally get the sweet release lmao. Wow that was a rant, anyway any advice for curing this issue if possible, personal experiences, scientific information etc would be great! moreResolved Question: Can You Give Feedback On My Poem? Suggestions for improvement would be most welcome!?
Any suggestions or feedback on how to improve this would be greatly appreciated! Survival. How can I survive when I feel so dead inside? My feelings of despondency are impossible to hide. The emotional pains so physical, the hurt is to the core, As desperation hits me, I can't take it any more. My mind gyrates in turmoil, every task is so mundane, No tablet, pill or potion can take away this pain. Depression creeps upon me, it reaches every bone, Around me there are voices, but I feel so alone. Cascading down a spiral, hoping all the time for sleep, That is my only comfort, for waking hours I weep. There's no solace in a bottle, I know that's not the cure, To lose the one you loved the most is so hard to endure. Slowly and subconsciously I see a ray of light, I really can't believe it, I've lived through another night. The sunlight harkens a new day and helps allay my fears, As the sound of friendly laughter helps abate me of my fears. By - Liam Smith. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for any comments or feedback! I hope everyone is well on this fine day!It is indeed supposed to be tears Michael - excuse the typo and thank you very much for the feedback! moreVoting Question: best treatment for trapped nerve in shoulder?
I've had trapped nerve in my shoulder for a week and the pain is excruciating. What are my best optios for curing this problem? moreVoting Question: Why do my knees pop or give out? (please help!)?
Okay, this has been with me since birth, and I have had no answer why this happens. When I walk, sometimes out of the blue, My knees will "Pop" (Only i can hear it though) and I will fall to the ground, then I would limp for 5 minutes. when I was little, it was only my left leg, and when my right leg would "Pop" It hurt so bad. And it would never stop happening. It will Pop on me at random times. 4 years ago, I was helping out with my mom's daycare, and my right knee popped, I fell to the ground, and my kneecap dislocated and wrapped around a nerve in my leg. At one point my kneecap was actually on the inside of my leg. I have struggled to find a cure for this since my childhood, and every now and again, my right knee will pop, causing me tremendous pain, and an anxiety attack. My left leg pops more frequently, of course. Also, when I trip over something, my left leg will pop, thus knocking me to the ground, and when I get up, I limp for a short time. PLEASE HELP!First answer: I couldn't find any site Second Answer: I don't know what it is, so that doesn't help me much, but I will try it. moreVoting Question: can you get arthritis in your feet ?

"A homeopath told a patient with rectal cancer to avoid mainstream medicine because alternative treatment alone could cure her, an inquest was told. Giving evidence at Dingle's inquest yesterday before West Australian Coroner Alastair Hope, her sister Toni Brown said seeing Dingle in 2003 was like watching "somebody being tortured". Mrs Brown said that in 2003 her sister was on a strict diet and lost a significant amount of weight but each time she expressed concern, Dingle and her husband told her the treatment was going well. Counsel assisting the Coroner, Lyle Housiaux, said Dingle's diaries, which have been tendered as evidence, revealed that Ms Scrayen said homeopathy would cure her and she had to avoid conventional medicine, including pain relief." http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/cancer-death-puts-homeopathy-in-dock/story-e6frg6nf-1225877659069 Unbelievable, this poor woman was effectively tortured to death over a period of 2 years, without ANY pain relief! What kind of staggering level of arrogance allows someone to do this to another human being, while denying them possibly life saving treatment or at the very least relief from the agony of such a prolonged death? If you choose to have alternative 'treatment', have you ever been told you should avoid conventional medicine? It gets worse: "Mrs Dingle then refused treatment from doctors who told her she had a reasonable chance of recovery if she underwent chemotherapy and an operation." http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/06/09/2922714.htmIzzy, FF & Dr T: This is not a Biased Sample Fallacy argument, (it's also a current news item, see the date). This is an example of a (doubtless) untrained, unqualified and uneducated person suppressing all expected humanitarian treatment in pursuit of a ridiculous and invalid delusion. Nitram, Rhianna and lo_mcg has shown this sort of behaviour is NOT an isolated incident and illustrates the gamble that these people take with other's lives. (This story only came to light due to the family pushing for an inquiry too). It really only underlines my previous point that alt med takes unnecessary risks and is bailed out by medicine in most cases (assuming the patient gets treatment in time). Apart from the usual fool, you've all (so far) provided sensible contributions, thank you.FF: You are confusing demands for the proof of a treatment's efficacy with my example of this real life event as a possibility that alties need to recognise. There is a disconcerting level of denial amongst some alties, especially with perceived 'harmless' treatments such as homeopathy. I've always said that advocation of alt med to the complete exception of real medical advice is dangerous; untrained and uneducated homeopaths (and others) should NEVER be anyone's primary source of health advice. I think you understand that, but there are more than just a few others who don't. Certainly most of the responses have been generally mature, it's shame that it took such a horrific story to focus people's minds. I would like to keep the question open for a bit longer but I'll be away from the internet for a few days, so will close it now. moreVoting Question: Is 500mg of Zithromax enough to cure STD's?
Hi All, My girlfriend and I have both tested positive for Chlamydia and we both have some questions for you. We about to start treatment together with two tablets of Zithromax 500mg each. My mum is 66 years old, she suffers from persistent hip pain as a result of mini arthritis. Sometimes, my mum struggles with house work and expects me to do half of it. My dad is staying in another country. My 42 year old brother still lives with her (because he is immature and messed up on life), when I living somewhere else for five years, he did most of the housework. My brother would be moving somewhere else next year. I moved back with my mum last November because I was unable to pay the rent because the agency couldn't provide me more work. Ever since I moved back to my mum's place, she never tells my brother to do the housework, its always got to be me. I told my mum she should show some diversity, then she says my brother doesn't have to do the housework because he works and pays the bills. There are days when my mum is in bed or unable to do the housework because of her chronic hip pain, so I have to come to her aide. There are no medications to completely cure her hip pain. The only option is possibly a hip replacement. My mum is also overbearing, she wouldn't allow me to go anywhere after 9pm like the bars or clubbing because she is scared that I would get murdered and raped. My mum doesn't like it when I hang out with friends because she feels they are a bad influence on my life (I do have good friends). She also doesn't like it when I go on holidays with friends/boyfriend, she is scared something bad would happen like my friend/boyfriend would plant drugs in my bag or probably get murdered. I have spoken to her several times about her strange attitude, she says she has a right to be strict and she is doing it because she loves me and would be sad and would never forgive herself if I was dead or in jail. Nothing really works. I really want to move out in a few months time, I am going uni next year so it would be better if I moved out, so it would be easier to commute. Should I move out? I would be 27 in a couple of months time, I deserve a life. I want to get married and have children. My whole life can't depend on my mother. moreVoting Question: i have sciatica and lower back pain?

(Sorry this is long but please read it. Its pretty serious. Thanks) (This is a re-post of the question i posted before) Hi, this may seem a little stupid but its serious. Im 13 and I have been suffering from Heart pains, loss of breath and feeling dizzy like Im about to faint. Here is how it first happened (This is an extract from my previous question): http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai9Ylgq8eMbnPUosT2RgcykhBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100529081549AAZMBob -------------------------------------- This situation is tearing me apart, Piece by piece. Im 13 and I am in a really hard situation. There is a girl I like at school. Her personality is extremely beautiful and her, herself is beautiful. She is extremely pretty (extremely). I feel (don't know about her) that everyday we are getting closer and closer. She acts like she is my best friend although I am really not sure if she is. She would be there everyday hugging me asking me how I am and stuff. It was her birthday yesterday and because to me she is a really good friend, I hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek and said Happy Birthday (I hardly EVER do that to my friends). We have a lot in common and I really want to be more than friends with her. But there is 3 problems. 1) I don't even think she will go out with a person like ME? (Appearance and stuff) 2) I just can't seem to imagine myself with her. I try to but my head is just not letting me. 3)I think I am just to ugly for her as she is extremely pretty. I think its just that my self esteem is low. I think I am really ugly. I think this relates to problem 1. I just think that Im an ugly piece of sh*t. Can any of you Y!A Gods help me with this. I don't want to just "get over her" as that will really finish me off because I see her every day! I think I'm ridiculous and that I never should of been born. That's why this is tearing me apart! Please help me! What should I do. It would be pretty hard to explain all of this to her. Really hard! Thanks so much! --------------------------------- I didn't know that my feelings for her was that strong for it to hurt me. It happens every time I think of her. There is not one time this has not happened when thinking of her. What can I do about the Pain, loss of breath immediately and feeling like im about to faint. Artemis and Apollo are brother and sister and they are fighting, not just a little slap here this is full on fighting, Olympian style. Apollo and Artemis were fine, they were talking and Apollo was reading her poetry, when Apollo called her 'little sis' Artemis shouted that she's not the youngest, Apollo is. Apollo shrugged and went over to talk to Artemis' maiden hunters, and Artemis flipped, as her maidens are not to have any boys near them, she got an arrow and bow and fit Apollo in he heel with an arrow, he scream like he was in pain, he pulled the arrow out of his ankle and healed himself (he's god of healing) then he turned and struck Artemis down with some illness, which made her hunters turn on Apollo, who struck them now too. Zeus came and broke them up, cured the sick and made Apollo and Artemis say sorry to each other, but now he's gone they starting up again, this time Apollo has his bow out too, HELP! moreResolved Question: Did we get a bill from Allah(S.W.T)?
A man reached 70 years of age and was affected by a disease which made him unable to urinate. The doctors told him that he needs an operation to cure the disease. He agreed to do the operation as the problem was giving him severe pain for days. When the operation was completed the doctor gave him a bill which covered all the costs. After looking at the bill, the man started crying. Upon seeing this, the doctor said "If the cost is too high then we could make some other arrangements for you." "The old man replied, "I am not crying because of the money but I am crying because Allah(S.W.T) let me urinate for 70 years and He never sent me a bill!" Subhanallah! "And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them…" Al Quran ( 14:34) CONCLUSION: We rarely thank Allah(S.W.T) for these things which are indeed great favors. Just a poem I wrote..it's slightly darker than what I usually write so tell me what ya think =D Question mark. An enigma. A shouting silence. A blinding light in the dark. What is less painful than pain, besides everything? Pain as an antedote for pain, only a thinker high on thought would use it. Side effect is the same as what it's treating, but nothing ever cured anything it didn't damage, right? Dependency becomes a problem. It kills other soloutions, it's all a matter of time... but who loves misery more than company? So, you tiptoe closer to the end, but yet you've never been so certain you're alive. The only thing keeping you awake, is slowly closing your eyes. Irony I think not, the bitersweetness of it destoys you as it heals. Either you go cold turkey, or your cure blurs the line with your condition.just that self destructivness people have, and no offense taken, loll i wrote it in about 5 mins anyway. moreResolved Question: Cures for a sore throat?

Extract from 1984 by orwell Without any warning except a slight movement of O'Brien's hand, a wave of pain flooded his body. It was a frightening pain, because he could not see what was happening, and he had the feeling that some mortal injury was being done to him. He did not know whether the thing was really happening, or whether the effect was electrically produced; but his body was being wrenched out of shape, the joints were being slowly torn apart. Although the pain had brought the sweat out on his forehead, the worst of all was the fear that his backbone was about to snap. He set his teeth and breathed hard through his nose, trying to keep silent as long as possible. 'You are afraid,' said O'Brien, watching his face, 'that in another moment something is going to break. Your especial fear is that it will be your backbone. You have a vivid mental picture of the vertebrae snapping apart and the spinal fluid dripping out of them. That is what you are thinking, is it not, Winston?' Winston did not answer. O'Brien drew back the lever on the dial. The wave of pain receded almost as quickly as it had come. 'That was forty,' said O'Brien. 'You can see that the numbers on this dial run up to a hundred. Will you please remember, throughout our conversation, that I have it in my power to inflict pain on you at any moment and to whatever degree I choose? If you tell me any lies, or attempt to prevaricate in any way, or even fall below your usual level of intelligence, you will cry out with pain, instantly. Do you understand that?' 'Yes,' said Winston. O'Brien's manner became less severe. He resettled his spectacles thoughtfully, and took a pace or two up and down. When he spoke his voice was gentle and patient. He had the air of a doctor, a teacher, even a priest, anxious to explain and persuade rather than to punish. 'I am taking trouble with you, Winston,' he said, 'because you are worth trouble. You know perfectly well what is the matter with you. You have known it for years, though you have fought against the knowledge. You are mentally deranged. You suffer from a defective memory. You are unable to remember real events and you persuade yourself that you remember other events which never happened. Fortunately it is curable. You have never cured yourself of it, because you did not choose to. There was a small effort of the will that you were not ready to make. Even now, I am well aware, you are clinging to your disease under the impression that it is a virtue. Now we will take an example. At this moment, which power is Oceania at war with?' 'When I was arrested, Oceania was at war with Eastasia.' 'With Eastasia. Good. And Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia, has it not?' Winston drew in his breath. He opened his mouth to speak and then did not speak. He could not take his eyes away from the dial. 'The truth, please, Winston. Your truth. Tell me what you think you remember.' 'I remember that until only a week before I was arrested, we were not at war with Eastasia at all. We were in alliance with them. The war was against Eurasia. That had lasted for four years. Before that --' O'Brien stopped him with a movement of the hand. 'Another example,' he said. 'Some years ago you had a very serious delusion indeed. You believed that three men, three onetime Party members named Jones, Aaronson, and Rutherford men who were executed for treachery and sabotage after making the fullest possible confession -- were not guilty of the crimes they were charged with. You believed that you had seen unmistakable documentary evidence proving that their confessions were false. There was a certain photograph about which you had a hallucination. You believed that you had actually held it in your hands. It was a photograph something like this.' An oblong slip of newspaper had appeared between O'Brien's fingers. For perhaps five seconds it was within the angle of Winston's vision. It was a photograph, and there was no question of its identity. It was the photograph. It was another copy of the photograph of Jones, Aaronson, and Rutherford at the party function in New York, which he had chanced upon eleven years ago and promptly destroyed. For only an instant it was before his eyes, then it was out of sight again. But he had seen it, unquestionably he had seen it! He made a desperate, agonizing effort to wrench the top half of his body free. It was impossible to move so much as a centimetre in any direction. For the moment he had even forgotten the dial. All he wanted was to hold the photograph in his fingers again, or at least to see it. 'It exists!' he cried. 'No,' said O'Brien. He stepped across the room. There was a memory hole in the opposite wall. O'Brien lifted the grating. Unseen, th moreVoting Question: could my aches & pains be caused by my driving?

I have 2 impacted wisdom teeth, both at the back of my lower jaw one on each side. Its not so much the toothache that is causing me to ask for advice, although it is bad, its the headaches. I have been taking diclofenac 50mg/6hrs, dihydrocodeine 60mg/4-6hrs and tramadol 100mg which i take on top of the dihydrocodeine if it gets bad. However i have tried taking the tramadol instead of the dihydrocodeine as they are more effective for me but i cant drive or really do much when taking them. I have been having this problem for a couple of months and have an op booked in another two months time. I am fully aware that taking opioid based tablets can cause headaches after prolonged use but i don't think this is the cause for my headaches. What i would like to know is if anyone knows of anything that is more effective as an NSAID anti inflammatory as i think that if i can get rid of the tooth pain the headaches will get better, i have also tried naproxen 500mg/6hrs but this did nothing what so ever. Any help will be greatly appreciated as i do not want to have a headache for the next 2 months :( ThanksThanks for your concern of overdose however all the tablets i am taking have been prescribed by a doctor and he knows what and how much of them i am taking so they are within acceptable boundaries. Also the op can not be brought forward as this is the earliest appointment available at the hospital which i am already travelling an hour out of my way to get to to get the earliest appointment possible. moreResolved Question: My cat has cured it's bladder infection, but can't control its urine.?

Could you tell me if the problem with my bitch is curable? We have 2 dogs and 1 bitch in our home 2 Jack Russell and a Weimaraner. We had our first dog Deano a Jack Russell dog 3 years ago. A few months later we had Libby a bitch. The 2 seemed to be well suited and got on fine, we referred to the as a married couple. The Weimaraner we had 12 months ago. We have had them all from puppies. Libby has always been a right character and like most women insists on wearing the trousers as far as the other 2 dogs go. She can be very bossy towards them and even the weimaraner knows when to back down even though she is so small. The problem is with Libby. She has always gone mad when the mail and newspapers are bought in even though we now have an outside , letter box and she now does not know when they are delivered. However this although a pain is not the reason I have contacted you but it could be linked. Today for the second time in the last few months she has attacked Deano. My Daughter came in today and when Deano went to greet her Libby attacked him. What is concerning is the way she attacked him. She latched on to his neck and locked her jaw and then shakes her head vigorously while continuously growling. No matter what we do she will not let go as she is transfixed and seems to have tunnel vision totally disregarding our attempts to free her locked jaw. When she eventually let go after being prised off she goes straight for him again as if she is on a mission. She did the same thing to him last month over food which has never been a problem before. When she goes for the newspapers and letter she is in the same frame of mind. We also have 4 indoor cats she goes mad for. We keep them separated with a stair gate but occasionally she gets past it. She has before now got one of the cats by the throat and pinned to the floor. My wife was so shook up over it today she wants to rehome her as she is scared of what she could do to him if we are not here, should it happen again. We are also concerned for the future if anyone brings a baby in to the house. We all love her dearly and would hate to get rid of her. So back to the original question. Can she be cured? moreResolved Question: Calf (lower leg) Cramp!?
I'm 13, growing rapidly (if that helps) and the other day I got a muscle cramp. Obviously had the sheer pain for around a minute or 2 and then I straightened it out and it slowly went away. It got better but I still struggle to walk 100% because it's soar in certain positions. Is this just what happens after a muscle cramp or could it be strained or torn (which I doubt as I am still young). Not looking for one of those fast cures just wondering if this is normal as I am still able to run around but when I walk I can feel some pain sometimes. Also what exactly happens during a muscle cramp?I've seen a lot of replies about stopping cramps but that isn't what I need. This is the first one I have got in a while because I turned my calf awkwardly. I was just wondering if it would go soon or if it is a strain.
